Cocaine Queen arrested
Rok sako tou rok lo
Good morning all, it is Wednesday May 13.
I am so obsessed with this Cocaine Queen, Anmol Pinky story right now and am doing a deep dive into who she is and how she was caught. Making of a Pakistani Netflix, 9.2 imDb series, if you ask me. We’ll have verified details for you tomorrow (since rumours that it was her second marriage to a police officer that kept her safe - but verifying first) and I’ve written about it in Highlights today as well.
Meanwhile, the war is exactly where you left it yesterday, with just fresh comments of the same content, ANOTHER Cambridge paper has leaked, and who knew our health industry was so reliant on grants?
See you all tomorrow with lots more on Anmol!

Crazy details have emerged about Karachi’s alleged “Cocaine Queen” Anmol Pinky, with investigators claiming she built a highly organised drug network involving family members, couriers, bike riders and bank transfers to distribute cocaine across the city. Authorities allege she entered the narcotics trade after links to international trafficking networks and later created her own underground “brand.” Investigators also claim Anmol was previously arrested in Punjab but released after an alleged Rs70 million bribe, while she reportedly made millions of rupees in monthly profits. An alleged audio leak of hers with a police officer, talking about how no one can catch her, is viral. Such an interesting case and story, we’ll have a full, detailed video for you in tomorrow’s newsletter.
PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters and Sohail Afridi were once again denied a meeting with Khan at Adiala jail, despite court orders allowing family visits twice a week. Aleema Khan called the move “contempt of court” and threatened an overnight sit-in outside the prison. The KP chief minister said PTI had now been left with “only one option: to go on the streets.” PTI leaders said internal discussions on the situation were ongoing.
Another Cambridge AS-level math paper was reportedly leaked online before the exam on Monday, with students claiming the paper was circulating on social media ahead of Tuesday’s test. Cambridge International Education said it investigates all allegations but did not directly confirm the leak. Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui demanded stronger security measures from Cambridge to protect students and restore trust in the examination system. A previous AS-level math paper was confirmed invalid by the Cambridge system following a separate leak, forcing affected students to retake the exam.
A new report has warned that Pakistan faces growing health risks as international funding for the health sector continues to decline, with major donors expected to stop grants by 2030. Pakistan currently receives around $4.9 billion annually in development assistance, but grant-based aid has already fallen by 59pc, while recent cuts include a $27.2 million reduction to key health programmes.
WAR UPDATE
Trump is now repeatedly saying (and has said before that) stopping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons is his top priority, even if Americans faced rising fuel prices and economic pressure. “I don’t think about America’s financial situation. I don’t think about anybody. I think about one thing: We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all. That’s the only thing that motivates me,” he told reporters yesterday.
Trump claimed Iran was “under control”, said the US blockade on Iranian ports was “100pc effective”, and insisted the war would end soon. Trump also praised Pakistan’s mediation efforts, calling Pakistan’s leadership “great mediators”, when asked by a reporter if he wanted to change Pakistan’s mediation role.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar discussed mediation efforts with Chinese and Austrian officials, who really pumped Pakistan to figure this out while Turkiye publicly backed Pakistan’s role in negotiations.
Iranian officials accused the US of using threats, sanctions and military pressure instead of genuine diplomacy. Iran says it wanted guarantees against future attacks, sanctions relief, compensation for damages, and respect for its rights before any lasting peace deal.
The conflict continued to impact global trade and energy markets. India launched a $1.5 billion maritime insurance pool to protect trade from Middle East disruptions. The US Energy Information Administration predicted oil prices could rise by another $20 per barrel if Hormuz remains closed. The Pentagon estimated the war had already cost the US $29 billion.
Yesterday, Lebanon said Israeli strikes in the south killed 13 people, including rescue workers, a soldier and a child, while Lebanese authorities accused Israel of systematically targeting health workers and medical facilities. The Lebanese government said Israeli attacks since March had killed 2,883 people and displaced more than 1.1 million. Israel also issued new evacuation warnings in parts of Lebanon and reportedly carried out raids and demolitions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
