'Operation Epic Fury' is over
Project Freedom also paused as talks take the lead
Hello all, it is Wednesday, May 6th.
In the past 60+ days, this has been the golden rule. You fall asleep and Trump has said something and wake up and he has said the opposite. Yesterday, before I went to sleep, I saw clips of him telling kids who were visiting the White House that Iran would’ve killed them in two weeks and this morning, he’s paused Operation Freedom to finalise a peace deal.
This morning, it does seem that it’s the closest we’ve ever been to peace (with Pak mediating, of course), so let’s seriously hope and pray that it ends soon.
Meanwhile, another Cambridge AS paper is leaked before the exam and I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for students who studied for it and there’s a shocking case out of Multan that we are waiting for more details on.
See you all tomorrow! (Also, please like and share this newsletter with your family and friends. Would really appreciate it)!

In a shocking case out of Multan, a woman and her three young children were found dead, with police now confirming it was a murder staged to look like a suicide. Investigators suspect the victims were strangled before being hanged, and the husband and his brother are in custody as the probe continues.
Police detained several Aurat March activists, including Sheema Kirmani, outside Karachi Press Club as they gathered for a press conference, but later released them on govt orders. They were demanding an NOC for their upcoming march, which authorities have not yet granted, while activists say the move reflects attempts to restrict peaceful protest.
The govt has failed to meet its targets of attracting $8 billion in investment and creating 500,000 jobs through Special Economic Zones, Investment Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said at a ‘Pakistan-China Industrialisation Dialogue’ in Islamabad. Only 4 out of 9 planned zones have progressed, with most still incomplete years later. The government now says the focus is shifting to exports, industrial growth, and closer business ties with China under CPEC Phase II.
An AS-level Business Studies exam paper was reportedly leaked online just hours before the test, raising fresh concerns about exam security. This comes days after Cambridge confirmed a Maths paper leak, with investigations ongoing to ensure students aren’t unfairly affected. No word yet though, on how Cambridge is going to handle the result of the confirmed leak in Math.
The War Might Be Over
Last night, President Trump has briefly paused “Project Freedom”, the military operation to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz, after reporting “great progress” toward a final peace deal. This pause comes at the request of Pakistan, which is acting as the main mediator between the US and Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the ‘successful’ Operation Epic Fury is over, which signals that this might really be the end of the war.
However, the US naval blockade remains in full effect until negotiators from the US side work on the final terms.
Iran’s Foreign Minister has arrived for talks with China, and on the ongoing negotiations in Pakistan to see if a permanent agreement can finally be signed.
A friend really needs you today and you need to take out the time to help them.
A really good interview of a really fun writer. Historian Audrey Truschke has written a book on the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and its a fascinating one. She gave an interview to Dunya Digital and had so much to say. A must read.
