It’s Thursday Sept 17 and some interesting news but first: which drama are you watching? I haven’t seen a good one in a while but I have a drama addict visiting me this week and while I work, we sometimes have a drama on. Dar-e-Nijaat is apparently making big waves and Bas Tera Saath Ho is ending soon. I just don’t have the energy to wait for episodes anymore. Do you?
It’s an interesting news day but the reccommendation today is my fav!
See you all now on Monday! I know a few of you have protested that there is no Sunday newsletter anymore BUT I do feel there should be something ‘more’ for me to do for a Sunday original. Working on it but until then, enjoy your weekend!

ISPR says Pakistan’s new defence pact with Saudi Arabia and Turkiye is meant to protect the three countries, not threaten others. Under the agreement, an attack on one country will be treated as an attack on all three. The comments come as Saudi says it intercepted a Houthi drone heading towards Makkah, a claim the Houthis deny. PM Shehbaz condemned the alleged attack and said Pakistan stands “shoulder to shoulder” with Saudi, while also calling for restraint and dialogue to prevent further conflict.
Remember when the new Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) was created and the Supreme Court (SC) was like well, who gets to decide which court decides what cases? Well, it’s happening again with Imran Khan’s case. The SC has questioned the FCC’s decision to take over cases related to Imran Khan’s transfer from jail to hospital. The SC said the situation is unprecedented and raised questions over whether the FCC can call for cases directly from the Supreme Court. The hearing has been delayed for three weeks while the attorney general examines which court has the authority to hear the matter.
Seems like it’s time to get a cylinder because the country could face a gas shortage this winter, Petroleum Minister Pervaiz Malik has warned. Pakistan is having trouble getting LNG from Qatar, and replacing a $30 million cargo could cost around $100 million. The govt says it is working to make sure gas remains available without significantly increasing prices for consumers.
The national cybercrime agency is examining the phones and bank accounts of cricketers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan over reportedly suspicious financial transactions. Investigators are looking at where money in their accounts came from and where it went, particularly around the England series, while phone messages, contacts and other data are also being checked. Reports say the investigation is also looking into alleged dressing-room leaks during the series, with both players appearing before the NCCIA in Lahore.
Wondering what that bad smell along Karachi’s coast is? WWF-Pakistan says it is coming from dead and decaying phytoplankton, which are tiny marine organisms that are washing up along the shore due to changes in sea temperature. The end of the monsoon and slower winds are also affecting marine vegetation and contributing to the smell.

The animal you dreamt about is not a bad omen. Shake off that bad feeling.

CHECK OUT this ROBOT fish. Inspired by the Arowana, it can be used for underwater surveillance and was unveiled at a trade fair in Beijing.
